Out of all the diets one can choose to follow, the Atkins Diet has to be one of the most popular. It is also one of the most controversial. Now known as the Atkins Nutritional Approach, this approach argues that lowering the intake of carbohydrates like flour and sugar will force one’s metabolism to focus on burning stored fasts and even burn calories at a greater rate than other weight loss programs. Instead of eating carbohydrates, the Atkins Diet advocated greater consumption of fats and proteins, which take longer to digest. Because these foods take longer to digest, hunger is decreased and diet followers consume less calories as a result.

Caffeine can be incredibly detrimental to a person’s health in more ways than one. Not only can caffeine become an addiction but it can also cause people to crash if they don’t have enough of it in their system. There are millions of people across the country that cannot attend school or get to work without having their morning jolt of caffeine. Now, that caffeine jolt can come from a bottle of soda, an energy drink, or a cup of coffee. It is utterly bad for your health to drink a ton of soda throughout the day let along in the morning instead of having breakfast.
